Science meets practice since the beginning of the year in Caritas St. Marienhaus in Constance and the Emmersberg Elderly Care Center in Schaffhausen.
On March 9, 2020, the press conference for the two-year project called PUR (Pflegeunterstützende Robotik – German for nursing robotics) took place at first in Constance and then in Schaffhausen. The press conference is sponsored by Interreg.
In this project, the University of Konstanz, the University of Applied Sciences Vorarlberg, the Caritas St. Marienhaus (Constance) and the Elderly Care Center Emmersberg (Schaffhausen) are working together with F&P Robotics to explore the potentials, limits and acceptance of assistant robots in nursing.
Michael Früh, Alina Gasser and Rastislav Marko from F&P Robotics visited the press conferences with Lio and were able to demonstrate some of his skills as well as answer questions.
Currently assistance robot Lio created by F&P Robotics is actively supporting patients and medical staff at Elderly Care Center Emmersberg and Caritas St. Marienhaus. Lio is bringing joy to residents and employees every day. Lio’s tasks and skills will constantly be updated over the next two years.
Care robot Lio is part of the 2 year project, which goal is to improve elderly healthcare by implementing robotic technology into care facilities.
