The Hotel Innovations-Day took place on 25th of June 2019 at the Kameha Grand in Zurich. This year’s theme was: Pairing: «digital and emotional! For tomorrow’s success». We presented our bar robot Barney, delighting the guests with mixed drinks.
GastroSuisse has been organising the Hotel Innovation Day for hoteliers and hoteliers in Switzerland for 11 years. The goal was to find innovative ideas and understand how they can be implemented. This is a vital contribution to the Swiss hotel industry. Our Barrobot Barney enriched the guests with delicious drinks as a digital supporter.
The event started with coffee and snacks, while Barney already attracted people’s looks and served some orange juices for breakfast. Afterwards the director of GastroSuisse Daniel Borner opened the event with a speech about new possibilities in the digital and analogue hotel experience. Further interesting lectures followed with critical as well as positive voices on the bar robot. Fritz Dickamp of L.I.K.E. Consulting stressed the importance of keeping up with technological advances and trends with robotics playing a major role. This will become particularly apparent as soon as Generation Y and Z will be the main customers in the hotel and gastronomy industries. Their focus will be on the fast and simple application of digital media. In order to meet customer needs, he recommends collecting data and evaluating these, what our Barney already offers through an intelligent software solution. Barney aroused the curiosity of the participants and diligently served his drinks. The refreshing GastroSuisse Signature Drink was popular among the orders. We are delighted with the positive feedback from the guests, who found the innovative, new product exciting.
